The Daily Krapht- Jason Loewenstein- “Machinery”

Jason Loewenstein is a musician and engineer out of Brooklyn, New York. In the early 90’s Loewenstein was a huge contributor to the low-fi indie rock scene, co-creating pivotal albums such as Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock, Bubble & Scrape, and Bakesale.

b783fd4b-fe5d-40ab-bf47-8759660e1a4fThis month he will be releasing his self-recorded, self-produced album, Spooky Action. With three singles and one video already out, fans new and old are getting excited with what they’re hearing.

“Machinery”, is the second single that has been released off of Spooky Action. Loewenstein tells us:

‘Machinery’ is the classic scenario of man desperately seeking relief from a world gone mad. Trying to avoid being ground up like hamburger in the machinery of the world or your own mind.”

I think it’s safe to assume we all can relate to the sentiment that is being expressed in the song,no matter which continent you’re currently living on. Classic sentiment that’s all too relevant and very real, “Machinery” hits home hard, take a listen to the lyrics and find out for yourself. Frantic and urgent in the best ways possible, “Machinery” needs to be listened to loud and preferably multiple times in a row.

If you like what you hear (and you will), you can pre-order Spooky Action before its release on June 16th on Joyful Noise Recordings. Vinyl, digital and CD options are available so whichever way you listen you are covered.
