The Daily Krapht – Rebekah Todd – “Hustle”

Rebekah ToddWhat a way for me to break into 2017! When I last saw Rebekah Todd, it was way back in 2014 when she released her debut LP. We became a big fan of Roots Bury Deep and are so happy to feature the first single off of her follow up album Crooked Lines. The first thing I realized upon listening to “Hustle,” is that the world needs more horns!

Rebekah Todd shines on a funk-filled track oozing with soul, with vocals that slide into your ear the way caramel melts in your mouth. The beat will force you to bounce in your seat, and the horns will make you pop out of it. As much as we love to cover electronic artists here, listening to musicians playing instruments with the kind of feeling you get off of “Hustle” is truly refreshing.

Keep an eye out for a full review of Crooked Lines as we get closer to the February 17th release. Also, go see Todd live on the following dates:

1/14 – The Whiskey – Wilmington, NC
1/21 – Local 506 – Chapel Hill, NC
