The Daily Krapht – Emilia Glaser – “Hollow”
Emilia Glaser is quickly becoming a heavy favorite around here (for more on Emilia Glaser, click HERE). So when a trusted colleague sent over something with her name on it, we couldn’t click play fast enough. Her latest single, “Hollow,” is the exact reason why. The singer from Fall City captures heartbreaking, soul baring honesty as if she were simply enjoying the breeze.
“Hollow” is a dark, soulful ballad that drifts through your mind, finding the soft spots to camp out in. Glaser is a combination of Norah Jones and Florence Welch with a dash of Natalie Merchant, dancing with a guitar riff that provides a nice balance to the vocals. It adds to the emotional lyrics at times, while adding an edge at others.
This track, produced by Jay Pinto (<—–look up and to your left), has a maturity to it that is usually seen with a much more experienced artist. In a year where I’ve been lucky to have heard some amazing music, this may be one of the best songs I’ve heard this year.
