The Daily Krapht – Modern Merchant – “Bucolic”

11263080_820652718025138_185303665732252426_nModern Merchant, a Brooklyn-based rock-pop/indie trio, recently released their single “Bucolic” as part of their brand new EP, Virtues, released on August 28, 2015. The trio consists of John Parson, Sydney Weiss, and Jesse Stanford. John and Jesse formed the original collaboration together in Connecticut. Sydney, who was already a well-established musician, came into the mix a few months later. They formed their incredible musical partnership back in October 2011.

Modern Merchant mixes various sounds into their tracks including indie rock, electro, and pop. “Bucolic,” specifically, is fairly reminiscent of “Afternoon” by Youth Lagoon. The background sound is very soothing yet upbeat and really allows your mind to be at ease; their lyrics are incredibly beautiful as well. The beginning of “Bucolic” has a slightly eerie vibe, but as it progresses it becomes more and more comforting. It’s perfect for almost any occasion.
