The Daily Krapht – Kat Robichaud and the Darling Misfits – “The Apple Pie and the Knife”
Kat Robichaud and her Darling Misfits are back with their second video off of the self-titled debut album released this past February (to read our FIVE STAR re view of the album, click here). For those that remember the first video “Why Do You Love Me Now?”, the themes and imagery carry over to the Daniel Garcia directed “The Apple Pie and the Knife.” Robichaud shines a light on the not-so-pleasant parts of achieving success in this image-driven world.
Being a finalist on NBC’s The Voice, did not come without some difficulties from the singer. Social media has given every person with the ability to type two words together a voice. Robichaud had to contend with “slut-shaming” by viewers of the show and this video is a direct response to those comments.
Bringing back Jillian Gnarling and Johnny Rockitt for this “sequel,” Robichaud goes on the offensive in the best possible way, poking fun at the “apple pie” culture and background of many of those who speak to “conservative values” while acting in the exact opposite way. Robichaud stands tall and takes back the power in yet another powerful video.
Robichaud can next be seen on August 1st, at The Gold Rush: A Minor Festival in Placerville, CA.
