The Daily Krapht – Sunsets North – “Train Ride Home”

11539048_10153154564665805_1100725975200144292_oYesterday, Sunsets North offered a free download for the track “Train Ride Home” to their followers. We thought it would be a great time to re-introduce our readers to the band since we covered their video for “Hurricane (Take You Away)” in March, 2014.

“Train Ride Home” travels down the path of pop-punk/power pop with powerful drum rolls, thick guitar riffs and a catchy hook. The duo of Warren North and Bob Bradford provide a great summertime love song for those who don’t admit to loving ballads. There is no doubt this is a love song though:

I got sixteen hours on a train ride home
and I never felt a love like this before
‘Cause I’d fight for you and I’d die for you
and everything in between
You got me upside down and inside out
I’m over myself, can’t control myself
And I can’t help but fall in love with you

The video for “Train Ride Home” was directed by Kristyna Barbella. With the boys playing at a railroad crossing, and the photos of couples laid out among the tracks, the train imagery is heavy and fitting, especially considering there was more than one image of military personnel with loved ones. You can just imagine the travelling those heroes had to go through to get back to their partners.
