The Daily Krapht – Stoney – “We Belonged”
Mark Stoney is a multi-instrumentalist out of Sheffield, UK. His debut album, The Scene and The Unseen took some time to build momentum, but once it did it caught the ears of the UK media and press. Stoney went on to play many high profile festivals like Glastonbury and Leeds, and was a support on tours for Arctic Monkeys, Aqualung and Athlete. As if that weren’t enough, his music had become popular across the pond, even popping up in some American TV shows. Stoney since then has decided to relocate to Austin, Texas for some “sunshine and change.” Here he has been held up in a creaky old house, working on new material.
After a side project in 2012 called Bobby Jealousy, Stoney began working on the follow-up album to The Scene and Unseen. More Than Animals is the new album due out in January of 2014, and yes we will bring you more coverage on the album very soon. In the meantime, we have his new video and single to share and what a treat it is. “We Belonged” is reminiscent of British bands like The Kinks with his own personal touch swirled in. His sound has been compared to the likes of David Bowie, Beck and The Kinks, so it’s no surprise his music is a hit wherever it is heard. “We Belonged” is beautifully lyrical with a stunning video to accompany it.
