Daily Krapht – Witch and Toad – Uncle Johnny

Daily Krapht – Witch and Toad – Uncle Johnny

Cleveland is a hidden gem of musicians. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame may have put that on the musical map but there is much more to this city than what you actually see. Witch and Toad is a prime example that  is nearly 30 years in the making. Steve Mramor was 30 years into his musical journey before he discovered Raven Dana and her daughter singing in a local coffee shop. Suddenly Steve found himself on a new musical path that took his music to another electrifying level. Sometimes when you least expect it, inspiration will find you and your creative juices will take you on it’s own journey.

The song “Uncle Johnny” tells the stories that were told to Steve by his Grandmother and Mother had of their time during the Great Depression. With all the singer songwriters out their today, I would say Witch and Toad are at the top of their game. Their songwriting and composing is well defined and flows softly and brilliantly. Their harmonies are beautiful and give the songs that subtle dash of sparkle. Fans of the genre will want to go and check out all the recordings they can find of Witch and Toad and enjoy that they took the time to share their journey with us.
